About Kristal Roberts
Kristal Roberts has three decades of experience in the field of leadership, organizational development and human resources. She is also the co-host to a top 1% worldwide podcast,Lifting Leaders, focused on unleashing leader possibilities to make a better world. She has coached and partnered with CEOs, executives and senior leaders to unleash employees’ potential and inspire high performing organizations around the world. She has developed many innovative programs over her career focused on increasing leadership and organizational capacity and performance.
Kristal started working in the veterinary industry in 2020 and is passionate about helping veterinarians develop their leadership.
Kristal is a certified executive coach through Hudson Institute and is a ICF Professional Certified Coach. Kristal has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University. She received the Women of Achievement award and the Pat Davis Legacy of Leadership Award for her long-standing commitment to making positive organizational change. She served on the Leadership Board and as part of the Executive Team for the International Coaching Foundation Washington State Chapter for the past three years and is currently serving as past-president. Kristal enjoys spending time with her family boating on the many beautiful lakes in Washington as well as traveling, reading and snuggling with her cat Lacey.

Pre-Workshop:
- DISC Diagnostic sent to all participants (completed in advance)
- Optional: Pre-work survey with one or two reflective questions (e.g., “What helps or hinders collaboration in your team?”)
- Welcome & Warm-Up (15 min)
- Quick intro, purpose, and what to expect
- Icebreaker: “What animal best represents your communication style—and why?”
- Overview of DISC styles and what they reveal about communication
- Debrief of team DISC results (general distribution, no deep dive into individual reports unless previously agreed)
- Group discussion:
- How do our styles complement or clash under stress?
- What are the implications for our daily workflow and client interactions?
- Scenario Breakouts:
- Teams respond to realistic clinic scenarios (e.g., rushed client drop-off, team conflict during a busy day, giving feedback across roles) using DISC insights
- Report out: What worked, what didn’t, and what we learned
- Introduce “Behavioral Agility”—how to adjust communication to better connect with others (team + client)
- What builds trust and engagement on this team? What breaks it?
- Introduce the “Three Levels of Listening” to improve daily interactions
- Small group reflection:
- What’s one small habit we can shift to create a stronger team culture?
- Each person shares one takeaway and one small action they’ll try
- Optional: Set a team intention or motto
- Close with appreciation circle (e.g., shout-outs or acknowledgments)
- Individual DISC debriefs (pre session)
- Summary handout of team style + communication tips
- 30-day follow-up session to check on action items and refresh key concepts
